FAQ
Is this therapy?
No, Mind to Mind Parenting does not offer therapy. We do have licensed consulting psychologists on staff, and we can provide you with an extensive referral list for most parenting problems. But the focus of Mind to Mind is coaching and education. We are committed to helping you increase your understanding of your child, yourself, and your relationship. From that understanding, we will work with you to develop your own parenting strategies, individually tailored for your own unique relationship with your child. It is our firm belief that in most cases, this will be far more beneficial to you and your child than finding the “right answer” to address a specific behavioral issue. At Mind to Mind, there is no right answer.
Does this mean I can’t see you individually? Do I have to go to a group?
When necessary, we are happy to work individually with you, your child, or both of you together. However, be advised—we believe the best way to learn reflective parenting is in a group. Don’t be surprised if we keep encouraging you to join.
I don’t live near you, but I really want to learn about this. What can I do?
We offer consultations and one-to-one coaching sessions over the telephone. In most cases, we can even accommodate a schedule including extensive travel.
